Energy and Environmental Legislation and Assessments of Dwellings
This second seminar will provide all the necessary information about the range of energy and environmental legislation for new and existing dwellings in the UK and how you can become assessors for energy and environmental performance. If you are a small business, living and/or working in London or are self-employed in the built environment sector including estate agents, surveyors, construction trade designers, architects, property developers, you are eligible to come to this FREE one day course.

The course will help SMEs to gain an overview of the legislation and assessment methods available. Furthermore it will enable delegates to consider options for possible further training in specific areas.

European and UK legislation which are acting as drivers, including the Energy Performance in Buildings Directive, the UK Housing Act 2004, UK Building Regulations 2006, Parliamentary Planning Statement 22 and resulting spatial strategies (e.g. the Merton Rule) and zero carbon homes by 2016.

Energy and environmental impact ratings, the basic principles of SAP and BREDEM. Commercially available software options.

The Home Information Pack, Domestic Energy Assessors, RDSAP and Energy Performance Certificates

EcoHomes and the Code for Sustainable Homes

Microgeneration and Low Carbon Technologies:
The effect of PPS22, Regional Spatial Strategies, The Code for Sustainable Homes and Building Regulations. Review of principle technologies and the Low Carbon Buildings Programme of grants.
