Through its involvement with the East Sussex betre programme, Rye Lodge Hotel has realised the commercial importance of improving resource management. Consequently, the hotel has saved thousands of pounds, and improved its company image by demonstrating a proactive approach to resource efficiency and waste management.

Terre à Terre saves over £2,100 by resource efficiency

Terre à Terre is one of the country’s top restaurants, frequently winning national awards. It has over 60,000 diners a year, coming to sample its famous vegetarian food. Management have taken a number of actions to source local and organic products, reduce waste and utility use and help the environment. In doing so, they have achieved impressive cost savings of over £2,100 a year.

Brighton Oasis Project save £958 through resource efficiency actions

Since receiving a free Initial Environmental Review and attending the Simple Utility Management Seminars (SUMS) course, both through the East Sussex betre* project, Brighton Oasis Project have taken several actions resulting in savings of £958 per year.

Resource Efficiency Saves Media Centre over £21k p.a.

Brighton Media Centre provides specialised serviced workspace in 4 buildings for over 60 companies in the New Media and Creative Industries. This includes provision of services such as broadband data with an on-site technical team, site maintenance, exhibition gallery, photographic studio, training and conference facilities. Brighton Media Centre has strived to improve environmental performance over the last 5 years and set up recycling, maximised use of electronic communications and took the opportunity to have Environmental Review from a local student. A number of cost and environmentally beneficial actions have been done, reaping considerable savings, with more planned for the future.

Window manufacturer identifies savings of over £25,800 p.a. from resource efficiency actions

Nuglas is a window, door and conservatory manufacturer/installer and have undertaken a number of resource saving actions that will cut running costs by £25,262 p.a. and significantly improve environmental performance and public image.
