Developer ‘Keane’ to use Trenchmod®
-
Keanes Environmental were commissioned by St James homes to modify 30,000 tonnes of inert and non hazardous material through their Keanemixer to create Trenchmod® which is being utilised as sub-base for the overall site infrastructure works.
The use of Trenchmod® has resulted in massive cost and environmental benefit including the diversion of 30,000 Tonnes of material from landfill, the avoidance of 380 Tonnes of CO2 and delivered cost savings to the project in the region of £1.2 Million [1].

Stephen Blackmore, Director of Brookwood Press Ltd, based in Redhill, took part in the PaperSave Pilot Recycling Scheme during 2004. This scheme provided free door-to-door paper and card recycling for a period of 9 months in order to stablish cost-effective and sustainable recycling for small and medium Sized Enterprises. Brookwood Press Ltd managed to recycle a considerable amount of their waste as well as saving on disposal costs

The Peacocks Centre saves thousands of pounds through Environmental Improvements

By developing an environmental strategy designed to reduce their waste going tolandfill, the centre management have reduced their waste stream by 182 tonnes or 19%of their total waste per year. In addition to waste reduction, the Peacocks Centre hasalso made improvements to energy efficiency. They have saved over £2,700 per yearon their electricity bills, and have introduced a range of social initiatives to helpsupport the local community.
