-

-
Sounds interesting.....
London's extraordinary diversity means that 12,000 restaurants from 60 different cuisines are located here, more than half the nation's total. The very nature of running a food and drink business means that the environment is always at risk.
This ranges from the vast amounts of packaging, the import of specialist foods, the 37,000 tonnes of used cooking oil in catering, the energy and utilities usage right through to over half of all vegetables being imported.
We've all heard of the need for the big supermarkets to take steps to minimise their environmental impacts and they are beginning to change their ways.... but the small food and drink businesses in London are just as important and could have an even bigger positive impact.
Making simple changes to your purchasing, preparation or waste can not only make you more environmentally friendly but could also save you money.
